Preparing for Surgery
- Vitamin C Intake
Two to three weeks prior to surgery, take 1gm of vitamin C twice daily. Vitamin C supports the healing process.
- Avoid Vitamin E
- Avoid Aspirin
Refrain from taking Aspirin for at least 3 weeks before surgery. Consult with your prescribing doctor if you experience headaches or discomfort, and use Paracetamol or Panadol as an alternative.
- Alcohol Abstinence
Abstain from alcohol for a specific duration before surgery, typically 10 days for major facial surgery and 5 days for most other procedures. Post-surgery, it’s advisable to continue avoiding alcohol for up to 5 days.
- Smoking Cessation
Stop smoking at least 2 weeks prior to surgery. Smoking has been shown to increase complications in cosmetic procedures.
- Arnica
Begin taking Arnica 30 tablets three days before surgery and continue for a week afterward to reduce bruising and swelling.
- Notify of Medical Conditions
Inform our surgeon of any recent medical conditions that may have arisen since your initial consultation. Timely updates on your health are crucial.
- Valuables
Avoid bringing valuables to the hospital. While there is a patient’s safe deposit box, leaving valuables at home is recommended unless necessary.
- Compression Garment
We will bring the correct compression garment we ordered preoperatively. This garment aids in postoperative comfort and is recommended to be worn for six to eight weeks after surgery.
